NF/FF hybrid imaging system

Here’s an example of raytracing I did for a novel imaging system using real Edmund Optics lenses.
The system images the near field of an integrated optics chip when the lens B is inserted, and the far field when lens B is removed. I’m using ‘near field’ and ‘far field’ loosely — in the end the received images do essentially give you that, but it is perhaps more correct to speak of imaging in real space and in Fourier space, respectively. Both spatial filtering and spatial frequency filtering can be done with appropriately placed apertures.
This is quite a unique and handy experimental tool for the characterization of integrated optics. A zoom-in of the CCD and chip is shown to the right of the black line.
