LabVIEW/Matlab equipment control

I’ve written a variety of code to control lab equipment. Here are just a couple of examples.
It is a common problem in optics to optimally couple light from one thing into another by precise positioning in x, y, and z (often also with angular degrees of freedom). Here’s some Matlab code I wrote from scratch to quickly optimize coupling by performing stepper-motor raster scans and piezo-actuator raster scans.
Later I rewrote similar code, but this time in LabVIEW, which also performs a variety of other functions. For instance, automatically optimizing in x and y while the user manually tunes z, arbitrary on-wafer or on-chip positioning, and so forth.
